Young Persons Policy

Club membership is available to young people between the ages of 12 – 17 inclusive (Junior Membership).

Those Junior members aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a Parent or a Responsible Adult when attending Club events. In the case of Responsible Adult a letter from the Parent / Legal Guardian authorising said Responsible Adult must be provided.

The viewing of all material by Junior Members at Club events is entirely the responsibility of the Parent / Responsible Adult .
Visiting speakers should be made aware that Junior members may be present and that the showing of “indecent images” to those under the age of 18 is illegal.
Using Junior members as subjects of images is only to be allowed with written permission of the Parent or Legal Guardian.
The use of images of Junior members for competition purposes is also subject to separate parental consent.
If Junior members are away from Parent / Responsible Adult with members of the Club then 2 or more adult members must be present.

ABUSE
Abuse of any person is not acceptable. Abuse in whatever form - Sexual, Physical, Verbal or Psychological – if suspected should be reported to a member of the committee at the first opportunity who has a duty to convene a meeting to include at least the Chairperson and/ or Secretary. Detailed minutes must be kept of any such meeting.
After hearing the concerns the meeting must decide on the appropriate course of action which should include the reporting of information to the Social Services and to the Police.
