We are planning to hold the meeting in Bittaford Village Hall - depending on government advice at the time. We hope also to give members who are vulnerable or shielding the chance to join via Zoom. We plan to have a mix of physical and Zoom meetings this year to allow us to hear speakers and judges from further afield. Our second meeting on September 28th will be a talk on Zoom from Alice Pennefather, an award winning photographer specialising in ballet and underwater work.
This year there are some changes to our programme with a reduction in the number of competitions, the introduction of image discussion and appraisal evenings and the creation of smaller Focus Groups under the heading “The Learning Zone”. We will have groups where we look at software and how to use it to make our photos as good as we can, another to help members get better images straight from their cameras, an audio visual group for those members wishing to create “stories” from images taken and stored on their computer and one for mobile phone users. With the blossoming interest in this form of photography we have members willing to help with how to use phones to take photos and then use apps to edit the images!
Last month members of the Club and facebook group enjoyed an evening visit to Lukesland with several new faces joining a number of more familiar ones. Although “out of season” for the gardens there was still plenty to photograph, as can be seen from the selection of images reproduced here.
